Travel north along the N2
At the Spaghetti Junction take the N3 towards Pietermaritzburg
Take the M13 Alternate Route after the Pavilion Shopping Centre
Take Exit 33 Assagay, Shongweni, Hillcrest offramp
Turn right onto R103 Assagay Hillcrest
Travel less than half a km then turn left onto the D435 to Alvestone
(Look out for the sign)
Continue up the road (nearly a km) and the 4th road on the right is Sparrow Lane (You will also see a 1000 Hills Tourism sign T3-96). Turn into Sparrow Lane and drive to the end and you will find Kangelani Lodge

Go through the Marianhill Toll Plaza (R7.00) and take the next turnoff (Shongweni/Hillcrest/Assagay)
Turn right into the R103 Assagay Hillcrest
Continue on this road, go over the M13 and left onto the D435 to Alverstone (Look out for the sign)
Continue up the road (nearly a km) and the 4th road on the right is Sparrow Lane (You will also see a 1000 Hills Tourism sign T3-96)
Turn into Sparrow Lane and drive to the end and you will find Kangelani Lodge

Take the N3 east towards Durban
After Cato Ridge take Exit 35 Hillcrest Durban onto the M13
Take Exit 33 Assagay, Shongweni, Hillcrest offramp

THE LODGE:
The lodge offers a spacious dining area and cozy lounge, both with fireplaces and open onto a covered verandah overlooking a spectacular indigenous garden.
The outdoor entertainment area boasts :
- A bush boma encircled by aloes and indigenous trees for those chilly nights, wrapped in a blanket around an open fire or enjoy a traditional potjie evening.
- Outside pub with Built in Braai
- Underground Wine Cellar for a unique dining experience (Max. Group of 8)
- Pool for those lazy summer days
We have 5 double rooms all en-suite with their own private entrances:
- Zanzibar and Mombasa rooms: 2 x double room with 2 single beds and shower en-suite situated upstairs with private balconies
- Kariba and Kalahari rooms: 2 x double room with queen beds and full bathroom en-suite leading onto covered verandah
- Serengeti room: 1 x double room with King bed, lounge, full bathroom en-suite with double shower and private outdoor garden shower. Leads onto covered veranda
